Kyros Ministry Statement of Faith
We have heard the words of the Prophet:
"And what does the Lord require? Only this: that you seek justice, love compassion and walk humbly with your God."
At Kyros Ministry, we believe that to seek justice means to speak against inter-personal violence and abuse, to educate for peace and to continually call those who are in power to do the same.
To love compassion means to stand with those who have been harmed, to offer support and direction to any person who has been violated, physically or spiritually.
To walk humbly with our God requires that we reject the temptation to deny our own culpability or our own victimization, for we believe that each of us is wounded whenever violence is allowed to exist in our communities.
Kyros Ministry Affirmation of Faith
We believe that God's active presence in our lives calls us to be present to one another in healthy relationships of dignity, authenticity and safety.
Because we follow the God of Wholeness, we are called to create sanctuaries - safe places to reveal and heal our brokenness.
Because we believe in the God of Truth, we are called to communicate openly, clearly and honestly.
Because we worship the God of Peace, we are called to speak out against misuse of power.
Because we know the God of Hope, we are called to offer support for those in despair.
